School) and the Parish
of Our Lady of Good Voyage, in the city of Rio de

Facilities provided by the Franciscan Priests of the Parish of Our Lady of Good Voyage in Rocinha, low-income
community (slum) of the city of Rio
de Janeiro.

Assisted children
Children, living in the low-income communities (slums) of Rio de
Janeiro City
Goal
To provide full-time quality education
and support to low-income children,
attending the four years of elementary
II (previous high school). To demonstrate that with good
teachers and motivated students, regardless of their socioeconomic status, they may become
prime citizens.
Number of students and classes for 2014:

Group of the sixth year: 11 students

Group of the seventh year, 10 students
·
Joint Group of the eighth and the ninth year: 14
students
Annual cost per student (2013 data):
The annual cost per student in 2013, excluded investments (buildings and
equipment), was R$8,700.00, or about R$720.00 per month. (In the first
half of 2013 there were 25 students; in the second half there where 24 students.)
Provided to each student:
Lunch and afternoon snack;
All school supplies requested by the school;
Cost
of extra activities requested by the college;
