The Henri Hulshoff Foundation - A Future for Children, was founded in 2004 by Henri and Josephine Hulshoff. Strong affinity with Portuguese-speaking countries and strong involvement with extremely poor children led to a direct form of help: small-scale but effective.
The Henri Hulshoff Foundation is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under tax number 8141.47.288.

The Henri Hulshoff Foundation's policy plan is to undertake actions that help poor children have a decent future in life by improving underprivileged educational institutions in both teaching and teaching materials and facilities.
All funds from the Henri Hulshoff Foundation are intended for these actions, without any financial reward to the board.Board members bear their own costs. There is no overhead.
A good education is essential for better outcomes in future endeavors. Therefore, in 2005, the Foundation began to offer assistance to a day-care center and nursery school located in one of the many shanty towns of Rio de Janeiro. When the Foundation's help first arrived, there where only 65 (sixty five) enrolled children, aged from a couple of months to seven years old.
Since then, with the help of the Foundation and other Brazilian entities, the number of children increased steadily from 65 to the present 260. The children spend the whole day at school and are provided with meals, courses, and tutoring. The ages now span a range from four months to twelve years. Children remain enrolled from nursery through fifth grade.
In a second phase, the Henri Hulshoff Foundation came to support a more ambitious project, supporting a group of six children (from 12 to 17 years old), allowing them to continue their studies to university.
Nevertheless, aid to the day care center in the low-income community mentioned above was continued.
